Where things stand.

A record of one ordinary transition, from dependency toward enough. Kept honestly, updated once a month, for as long as it takes.

This isn’t a tracker of output. There’s nothing here to optimize. It’s closer to a field notebook than a scoreboard: what moved, what didn’t, and where I actually am, stated plainly.

Where I Stand Today

The honest version.

Last updated: August 2026

Still employed full-time. Still living away from most of my family because of work. I paid roughly ৳10,000 toward the credit card at the start of the month, but a family emergency a few days later required withdrawing about ৳11,000 again and sending it home. The liability did not meaningfully decrease this month, and with roughly ৳7,000 to ৳8,000 in travel expected around my trip home on August 25, it may end the month slightly higher than it began. I’ll try to control spending where I can, but this is the honest shape of the month rather than a setback to explain away.

No emergency fund yet. Basic needs and the credit card are still absorbing most of the available income, so there isn’t consistent room to save. The plan is unchanged: clear the liability first, then begin the fund, likely at somewhere between ৳5,000 and ৳8,000 a month once it starts.

The Passive Circle stayed small this month, with one article published and a new AI-related category started. Sumons.com got more of my attention, including a longer article on education and more experimenting with Facebook and short-form video.

One practical change: my office hours shifted to 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM on August 22, which may open up early mornings for personal projects before I leave for work.

This Month

August 2026

The credit card didn’t move the way I wanted it to. I paid toward it early in the month, then a family emergency pulled roughly the same amount back out to send home. That’s the honest arithmetic of August: progress and a setback landing almost on top of each other. Going home on the 25th will add more expense before the month closes.

The emergency fund is still ahead of me, waiting on room that hasn’t opened up yet.

Quieter things moved. I published one piece on The Passive Circle, about the recent discussion around AI watermarking, and started a new AI-related category there. I wrote a longer article on education for Sumons.com, shared three or four short videos, and spent real time learning how Facebook pages actually work, something I’d mostly ignored before. Career-wise, I applied to an organization and to Karnaphuli Group; no word back on either yet.

My younger daughter turned a year older on August 20. I wasn’t there, but I sent my wishes from Dhaka. My friend and I talked through where the pond and the farm might sit on the family land, still just conversation, nothing built.

On the rooftop, the small experiment continues: chilli producing fruit, pui shak spreading through new branches, and mint that had dried out once and is now putting out fresh leaves.

Preparation is not always visible progress. Sometimes it means staying steady while the financial foundation is still being built.

The Long View

Every month, on the record.

Aug 2026 Preparation Debt reduction stalled after a family emergency required additional borrowing. The emergency fund remains ahead, while more time went into Sumons.com, Facebook, Pinterest, The Passive Circle, career applications, and early planning for future self-reliance.

See the monthly note above. This entry mirrors it until next month’s update moves it fully into the archive.

Jul 2026 Preparation Debt nearly cleared, journey structure clarified, emergency fund still ahead.

Still employed full-time. Still living away from most of my family because of work. The credit card debt is roughly 85 percent repaid, and if things go according to plan, the remaining balance should be cleared within the next month.

No emergency fund yet. That’s the next objective, likely starting around September, with a target of setting aside somewhere between ৳5,000 and ৳8,000 a month once it begins. Not for investment. For resilience, so there’s time to think instead of panic if the income stops.

The Passive Circle is still small and not producing meaningful income, but it keeps growing slowly through content and a small, real audience.

No major life changes this month. Most of the movement was internal: planning, writing, paying down debt, and getting clearer on direction. One of the more meaningful developments was clarifying the actual structure of this project: a seven-stage path from Awareness through Preparation, Alternative Building, Reduced Dependency, Self-Reliance, Enough, and Peace.

Earlier months will appear here as they’re recorded. This page started keeping a monthly record in July 2026.
How This Connects

The spine, the noise, the second engine.

The Essays

This page is the spine.

The essays are the long chapters, where a single idea gets the room it needs. This page is shorter and more frequent: the plain status the essays eventually get written from.

Facebook

This page is the record. Facebook is the signal.

Facebook posts happen in real time and disappear into the feed. This page is where the same movement gets kept, dated, dry, and permanent.

The Passive Circle

A second engine, not a second story.

The Passive Circle is one of the practical projects behind this journey. Its purpose is not instant freedom. Its purpose is reducing reliance on a single source of income.

Success isn’t guaranteed. That’s why the progress will be documented honestly here.
